A set of seven publications looking at Scotland's strategic approach to climate change adaptation. The resources were developed for the Climate Ready Scotland exhibition at the European Climate Change Adaptation Conference 2017.

Scotland is taking a strategic approach to climate change adaptation across policy, practice and research. The work is founded on strong legislation and Government policy, alongside a solid commitment from society to work together to prepare for the impacts.

These partnerships inspired the Climate Ready Scotland exhibition at European Climate Change Adaptation Conference 2017. The exhibition and accompanying publications cover seven themes across Scotland’s economy, society and environment:

  • Scotland’s partnership approach to climate change adaptation
  • Biodiversity and ecosystems
  • Productivity of land and sea
  • Land use and planning
  • Managing our assets – buildings, infrastructure and cultural heritage
  • Community resilience, health and well-being
  • Business risks, and adaptation products and services

Opening the exhibition Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, Roseanna Cunnningham MSP said:

'True partnership working can help organisations plug skills, data and resources gaps, can improve communication between partners and can reduce delay. Organisations will be more able to deliver comprehensive risk assessments, strategies, action plans, climate resilient services, processes and projects when working in partnership.'
